Lighting wasn’t great this afternoon, but scrambling up and up certainly was.  Only scratched the surface of this amazing place – also knees, shins and elbows on the coarse granites – but well worth the ascent.  As in the canyons and arches of Utah, Joshua Tree abounds with animal and humanoid shapes… like, trippy, dude!
